Many of us have been moved by C. S. Lewis. What happens when a love of his writings becomes a serious conversation?
Few readers have the opportunity to combine that love with professional study of Lewis, fewer still at Oxford. Jason has done both. A scholar of Lewis and the Inklings and a former president of the Oxford University C. S. Lewis Society, he brings that experience to one-to-one online tutorials.
His teaching and research have taken him to Oxford University, Regent College, the University of Helsinki, and George Fox University. These independent courses make room for readers of all backgrounds to explore great books, develop their ideas, and strengthen their research and writing—with personal attention from a specialist.

Dr. Jason Lepojärvi
(pronounced Leh-poh-yar-vee)
Jason’s work brings together literature, theology, and the philosophy of love. His doctoral research at the University of Helsinki explored Lewis’s understanding of love; his teaching and research have taken him to Oxford University, Regent College, the University of Helsinki, and George Fox University.
A former Junior Research Fellow in Theology at Oxford and president of the Oxford University C. S. Lewis Society, he brings scholarly depth and a love of conversation to the tutorial table.

Do I need to be an academic?+
No. The tutorials welcome anyone aged 16–99, including interested readers as well as students. Bring a willingness to read, write, and take your questions seriously; you can discuss your background and goals with Jason before beginning.
How do the online meetings work?+
Each tutorial lasts one hour. You meet individually by video call. You prepare a paper beforehand, present it, and discuss both its ideas and its writing with Jason.
How long is a course?+
Choose four tutorials (a minor) or eight (a major), with weekly, fortnightly, or monthly meetings. C.S. Lewis’s List also offers a complete ten-tutorial course. Contact Jason to confirm a schedule that works for you.
What does it cost?+
A minor (four tutorials) costs US$750. A major (eight tutorials) costs US$1,400. Contact Jason to discuss availability.
Can I receive university credit?+
These are independent, non-credit tutorials. If you hope to count the work towards your degree, ask your own university whether an arrangement is possible.
